Apps and sign-ups
Pay partners per app install or per sign-up.
Use this if you have an app or a sign-up product (for example a finance app) and want to pay partners for app installs and/or sign-ups, not only sales.
How it works
- A partner shares their Bridgly link.
- Someone taps it. On a phone, Bridgly sends them to the App Store or Google Play.
- They install and open your app. The Bridgly SDK in your app tells Bridgly, and Bridgly matches the install to the partner's link.
- They sign up. Your server tells Bridgly, with the click id the SDK gave you.
- Bridgly credits the partner. After your hold period (and your review, if you review commissions), you pay them from Payouts.
1. Set what partners earn
Payouts → Settings → What partners earn:
- Per app install: paid once per device, only when the install came from the partner's link.
- Per sign-up: paid once per customer.
Leave either empty to pay nothing for it. Sales commission is still set on each partner's link.
2. Create your keys
Settings → Workspace → API keys:
- App key (
pk_live_…): goes inside your mobile app. It can only report installs and look up the link someone tapped. - Server key (
ak_live_…, "All"): stays on your server. Never put it in an app or a web page.
3. Add the SDK to your app
Copy the one-file SDK for your platform from App SDKs (iPhone, Android, React Native). Short version:
iPhone:
Bridgly.configure(appKey: "pk_live_…")
// When a Bridgly link opens your app:
Bridgly.handle(url: url)
Android:
Bridgly.configure(this, "pk_live_…")
// In the Activity a Bridgly link opens:
Bridgly.handle(this, intent.data)
Android also needs com.android.installreferrer:installreferrer:2.2 in your app, so Google Play can pass the link through the install.
4. Report the sign-up from your server
Send the click id from the SDK (Bridgly.clickId) to your server with the new account, then:
curl -X POST https://www.bridgly.co/api/track/lead \
-H "Authorization: Bearer ak_live_…" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"clickId":"<from the SDK>","customerExternalId":"user_123","eventName":"Sign up"}'
customerExternalId is your user id. A customer only ever earns the partner one sign-up commission.
How exact is install matching?
| Phone | How the install is matched | Exact? |
|---|---|---|
| Android | Google Play passes the link through the install (Install Referrer) | Yes |
| iPhone, app already installed | The link opens the app directly (universal link) | Yes |
| iPhone, new install | Optional "Get the app" page: one tap copies the link, then opens the App Store; the app reads it on first open | Yes, when the person allows paste |
| iPhone, new install, page off | Not matched | — |
Bridgly does not guess installs from IP address or device details. Apple's App Store rules don't allow fingerprinting for attribution, and a guessed match isn't something you should pay a partner for.
Review and fraud checks
Commissions can wait for you before they pay. Payouts → Settings → Review commissions:
- Only flagged (default): commissions pay out after their hold period. Bridgly holds back ones that look wrong for you to approve or reject in Payouts → Needs review.
- All: every commission waits for your approval.
What gets flagged (held for review, never blocked):
- 3 or more conversions from the same device/network within 24 hours
- an install reported under 10 seconds after the click
- a partner going over your optional daily limit
A partner can never earn from their own sign-up (same email).
Automatic payouts
Payouts → Settings → Pay partners automatically: weekly (Mondays) or monthly (the 1st). Bridgly pays each partner's approved, payable balance with your saved payment method. Needs the Core plan and a saved card or bank account. Partners who haven't set up payouts are skipped until they do.
